About Me

Hi, I’m Michelle - the counsellor behind Townsville Counselling & Wellness.

I’m a qualified counsellor and a mum of four, and I understand how overwhelming, isolating and emotionally heavy life can feel - especially during early motherhood and times of major life change.

I’m passionate about supporting women and families through the messy, stressful and uncertain seasons of life. That might look like parenting pressure, relationship strain, identity shifts, burnout, or simply feeling like you’ve lost yourself along the way.

My work is centred around creating a calm, safe and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and supported - at your own pace.

  • Counselling with me is gentle, collaborative and practical.

I won’t tell you what to do. Instead, we’ll explore what’s sitting beneath the surface, notice patterns that may be impacting you and look at what moving forward could realistically look like for your life.

My approach is person-centred and trauma-aware, grounded in everyday experiences rather than idealised solutions. I focus on helping you build insight, confidence and coping strategies that fit your real world - not another set of expectations to live up to.

  • Supporting others has always felt natural to me and becoming a counsellor has allowed me to turn that into work that feels both meaningful and sustainable.

I’m especially drawn to supporting mothers, because I remember those early seasons so clearly - the exhaustion, the identity shift, the guilt, the pressure to keep everything together, and the quiet moments of “I love this… but this is also really hard.”

My goal is to offer a space where you can be honest, vulnerable and real - without judgement, pressure, or expectations.

If I can help someone feel even a little lighter, more understood, or more grounded, then I know I’m doing the work I’m meant to do.

  • I work with individuals, parents and families who may be experiencing:

    • stress, overwhelm or emotional overload

    • motherhood and identity changes

    • relationship or communication difficulties

    • anxiety, low confidence or self-doubt

    • burnout or ongoing exhaustion

    • life transitions or personal change

    • everyday challenges that feel heavy or hard to carry alone

Everyone’s story matters and everyone deserves a safe space to work through what they’re facing.

A space to breathe and be yourself

Whether you meet with me in my quiet counselling space in Alligator Creek or in the comfort of your own home, my intention is always the same:
to offer a gentle, supportive space where you can talk openly, feel grounded and explore meaningful steps forward.

If you’re wondering whether counselling could help, you don’t need to have it all figured out - we can start where you are.
