Parenting Support in Townsville
Some seasons of parenting are harder than you ever expected.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted or struggling to be the parent you want to be, support is available.
When everything starts to feel like too much
Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be exhausting.
You might find yourself reacting in ways that don't feel like you, feeling constantly overstimulated or wondering why everything suddenly feels harder than it used to.
Often it isn't one big thing causing the overwhelm.
It's the constant responsibility, the mental load and the feeling that everyone needs something from you.
Over time, that can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself and unsure how to keep going.
“I love this… but this is also really hard”Why supporting parents matters to me
As a mum of four boys, I know that parenting can be the most rewarding part of life while also being one of the hardest.
I know what it's like to carry the mental load, question whether you're doing enough and keep showing up for everyone else, even when you're exhausted yourself.
I've also seen how differently mothers and fathers can experience the pressures of parenting. While those experiences aren't always the same, both deserve support.
That's why I'm passionate about creating a space where parents can step out of survival mode, feel heard without judgement and find practical ways to move forward.
Questions parents often ask
-
Parenting support counselling is often less about “fixing” your child and more about supporting you through the emotional stress, overwhelm and pressure that can come with parenting. Sessions can help you better understand your reactions, reduce emotional overwhelm and find ways to respond more calmly and confidently.
-
You are welcome to attend on your own.
Many parents come individually because they simply need someone to talk to, while others choose to involve their partner later. Every family is different and we'll work with whatever feels most helpful for your situation.

Yes.
Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be exhausting, overwhelming and emotionally demanding. Many parents struggle with feelings of guilt, frustration, self-doubt or simply feeling like they're carrying too much.
Seeking support doesn't mean you're failing - it means you're recognising that you don't have to do it all alone.
-
Not at all.
You don't need to wait until everything feels unmanageable.
Many parents reach out simply because they're feeling overwhelmed, stuck or want support before things become bigger. Counselling can be just as valuable for preventing burnout as it is for helping during difficult periods.

Online counselling is available Australia-wide, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own home.
Many parents find online sessions easier to fit around school drop-offs, naps and family commitments.

For mothers in the Townsville area, I also offer in-home counselling.
This allows you to receive support in a familiar environment without the added stress of arranging childcare or travelling to an appointment.

Parenting counselling can support a wide range of challenges, including:
• feeling overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted
• adjusting to life with a new baby
• managing stress, guilt or anxiety
• parenting disagreements between partners
• balancing work, family and personal wellbeing
• navigating challenging behaviours
• rebuilding confidence in your parenting
Every family's situation is different, so sessions are tailored to your individual needs.
-
That's completely okay.
Many people arrive knowing something doesn't feel right but struggling to put it into words.
You don't need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. We'll take the time to understand what's been happening and work together to identify what would be most helpful for you.
You don't have to do this alone
Parenting isn't about getting everything right. It's about having support when things feel harder than they should.
If it feels like the right time to talk, you can book a session online or get in touch if you'd like to ask a question before making an appointment.
